CAQA Meridian Business Group is a professional services firm that helps small and medium organisations run better. Meridian provides business advisory and planning, outsourced human resources and payroll, bookkeeping and finance support, marketing and communications, project management office services, and quality, risk and compliance consulting. Clients include family owned businesses, not for profit organisations, local government, schools and growing companies that need senior expertise without employing a full time team. Most engagements run as retainers, with fixed price projects for larger pieces of work such as a system implementation, a marketing campaign or a compliance audit.
The firm works from two offices. The Melbourne head office holds the leadership team, client advisory, finance and administration, marketing and communications and the projects office. The Adelaide office holds people services and a smaller advisory and compliance team serving South Australian clients. Six departments report to the General Manager. Staff work standard business hours with flexible start and finish times and hybrid arrangements, and client meetings are held on site, in the Meridian boardrooms or online. Every client, project, invoice and internal request is recorded in one of the firm's five business systems.
Meridian operates a quality management system built around documented procedures, controlled templates, internal audits and client feedback. Client information is handled under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles with strict access controls and a records retention schedule. Health and safety is managed under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 in Victoria and the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 in South Australia, with a focus on ergonomics, psychological health, travel to client sites and working alone. The firm reviews its risk register quarterly and tests its business continuity plan every year.
