Phishing emails impersonating the General Manager

Three staff received emails last week claiming to be from Priya asking for urgent gift card purchases. Nobody acted on them, which is exactly right. Check the sender address on any unexpected request for money or information, never buy gift cards or change bank details on an email instruction, and report suspicious messages to Ingrid through the report button.

Workstation assessments and the cabling fix

The desk reconfiguration in Melbourne has left loose cabling in the open plan area. Facilities will install floor covers on Friday. Until then, keep to the walkways. Everyone who moved desks must complete a workstation self assessment this week, and anyone working from home must complete the annual home workstation checklist by 30 September.

Records retention clean up

An internal audit finding shows closed client folders older than seven years have not been destroyed under the retention schedule. Finance and administration will run a retention review during September. Do not delete any client folder yourself. If you find old files that appear to be past retention, tell Hamish and they will be handled through the schedule.

This year's continuity test will be a tabletop exercise on 13 November simulating a cyber incident that takes the client systems offline for two days. Department managers and their nominated backups must attend. Everyone else will receive a short briefing on the manual workarounds for payroll and invoicing in the week before.
