Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics
v2.0
Purpose. Sets the standards of behaviour, ethics and professional practice expected of everyone who works at or represents Meridian.
1.Our standards
Meridian's reputation rests on the conduct of its people. Every worker must act honestly, treat colleagues and clients with respect, comply with the law and the firm's policies, and avoid any conduct that would bring the firm into disrepute. This code applies at work, at client sites, at events and online where the worker is identifiable as part of Meridian.
2.Conflicts of interest
Workers must disclose to their manager any personal, financial or family interest that conflicts or appears to conflict with their duties, including interests in a client or supplier. Disclosed conflicts will be recorded and managed, which will include removing the worker from the engagement where necessary.
3.Confidentiality and independence
Client information must be kept confidential during and after the engagement. Advice must be given independently and in the client's interest. Workers must not accept gifts, hospitality or benefits from clients or suppliers above the value set in the delegations register, and must record any gift accepted.
4.Respect and inclusion
Meridian will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, bullying or victimisation. Workers must treat everyone with dignity, use inclusive language and support colleagues from all backgrounds. Concerns must be raised with a manager, the People Services Manager or through the grievance process.
5.Use of resources and systems
Firm systems, devices and information must be used for firm business and in line with the privacy and information security policy. Reasonable personal use of devices is permitted provided it does not interfere with work or breach any policy. Workers must not use the firm's name or resources for private gain.
6.Breaches
Breaches of this code will be managed under the performance and conduct procedure and will result in outcomes ranging from counselling to termination of employment depending on the seriousness. Workers who report a breach in good faith will be protected from any adverse treatment.
